ME Law Professional Corporation (www.melaw.ca) is a dynamic, fast-growing litigation firm located in the heart of Downtown Toronto (Yorkville), specializing in estate, real estate, and corporate/commercial litigation. We are seeking a Part-Time Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our operations team, with the potential for this role to become permanent as we continue to expand.

Position Details:

  • Role: Accountant / Bookkeeper
  • Term: Part-Time (Potential to become permanent)
  • Hybrid: On-site and remote
  • Start Date: September 3, 2025
  • Training: will be provided

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trust and General Account Reconciliations: Maintain accurate and timely reconciliations in accordance with professional standards and firm policies.
  • Invoicing & Data Entry: Prepare and send client invoices, accurately record new invoices into accounting systems.
  • HST Preparation & Submission: Compile and submit HST returns, ensuring compliance with all filing deadlines and regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or in a similar financial role.
  • Familiarity with trust accounting principles (experience in legal industry an asset).
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Cosmolex) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with legal trust accounting and reconciliation processes.
  • Previous work in a law firm or professional services environment.
